As it turns out, this has left me with a bit of a gap in my understanding of tactics. So, through most of my time playing Total War games (mainly in Rome 2, Fall of the Samurai and Attila) I've played factions using either heavy, Roman-style infantry or with a focus on cavalry. Also do u think it would be good to migrate to Britain and abandon the starting settlement (forgot what it was called), since I heard that is a good move by some people. Generally, you will want to base your armies around a main body of spearmen with some archer support and most importantly melee cavalry for the extra punch you.

Then you are forced to get some southern colonies in Normandy/Gaul area as the climate change turns GB into a cold Island.įranks.

You then have to fend off the Angles and Danes as they all want a piece. Sailing into England and starting the Anglo Saxon Kingdoms in Britain is a pretty fun experience.
